FAMILY RESOURCES

Idaho Department of Health & Welfare

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) oversees various programs and services related to public health, social services, and assistance for individuals and families in need.

Idaho Child Care Program
 

The Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) helps low income families by paying for a portion of child care tuition. Assistance is available for parents who work, go to school, or participate in another qualifying activity. 

​

​

Developmental Milestones
 

Developmental Milestones help parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals monitor a child's development and identify any potential delays. Early identification can lead to timely interventions and support, promoting optimal outcomes for children.

Infant Toddler Program
 

Idaho's Infant Toddler Program (ITP) coordinates a system of early intervention services to assist Idaho children from birth to 3 years of age who have a developmental delay or who have conditions (such as prematurity, Down Syndrome, hearing loss) that may result in a developmental delay.

West Ada Early Intervention Preschool Program

The West Ada Early Intervention Preschool Program provides early intervention services and support to preschool-age children with developmental delays or disabilities to help these children reach their full potential by addressing their individual needs through specialized education, therapy, and other interventions.

Idaho Foodbank
 

The Idaho Foodbank distributes food to individuals and families in need through a network of partner agencies, shelters, and meal programs throughout Idaho.​​​

IdahoSTARS
 

The IdahoSTARS program aims to enhance the quality of early care and education for children in Idaho by providing professional development opportunities, and support for early childhood educators and child care providers.

Child Care Aware of America
 

CCAA ensures that all families have access to high quality, affordable child care by providing information, resources and advocacy. 

​

CCAA also partners with the United States Military and Department of Defense to serve and support their families through Fee Assistance and Respite Child Care Programs.

Ages & Stages
 

Ages and Stages is a tool that helps parents, caregivers, and professionals track developmental progress, identify potential areas of concern, and determine if a child is meeting typical milestones for their age.

Zero to Three
 

Promotes the health and development of infants and toddlers by providing resources, information, and advocacy to support parents, caregivers, and professionals in nurturing young children's early development.

Head Start
 

Head Start promotes school readiness for children from low-income families by providing comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and family support services.

Idaho Housing and Finance Association

This program provides financial assistance to eligible low income households, helping them to afford safe and stable housing and to avoid homelessness.
